LyptusŽ has a rich grain pattern resembling Mahogany and a color that is similar to American Cherry. The hardness of LyptusŽ is comparable to Brazilian Cherry.	LyptusŽ is a true innovation in the architectural hardwood industry. It is an exotic hardwood that’s eco-friendly, beautiful, sustainable and different from any other in the market. LyptusŽ (trademark of Weyerhaeuser) is a natural occurring hybrid of two eucalyptus sub species. These trees are grown on highly productive Brazilian plantations which were previously devastated forests. The added step of planting indigenous species along with this eucalyptus hybrid was taken in order to bring back the native eco-system. These trees grow an average of 1 inch per day. The time from planting saplings to harvesting is a phenomenal 15 year average compared to a 50-60 year average for domestic hardwood or 80-100 for exotic. Another interesting fact is after the first cutting cycle, saplings start growing from the stump to begin the next generation.
